Biography
Born in 1991, Ju Wenjun beat Tan Zhongyi in a 2018 match to become champion, and has successfully defended the title multiple times since — including against former champion Alexandra Kosteniuk and challenger Lei Tingjie — making hers the most stable reign the championship has seen since the format returned fully to head-to-head matches.
She remains the reigning champion today.
