Current practitioner licence/registration; premises registration; bloodborne-pathogens certificate and renewal; hepatitis B vaccination evidence; public and treatment insurance; a written infection-control / exposure-control plan; client consent and medical-history records retained for the required period; and a pigment log (brand, colour, batch, expiry) matched to clients.
The physical setup
Single-use needles and pigment, opened in front of the client and binned to a compliant sharps container; barrier film on machine, cord, lamp and surfaces; hard, cleanable, clutter-free surfaces; a hand-wash basin with liquid soap and paper towel in the procedure area; correct disinfectant used at the stated contact time; a clinical-waste contract and documentation; safe storage of stock, separated clean/dirty zones; no food, drink or animals in the procedure area.
How to pass easily
Run your studio every day as if an inspector is due: consistent setup and tear-down, complete records, in-date certificates, and staff who can explain the infection-control plan. Ask your local authority for its checklist in advance — most publish one — and self-audit against it quarterly.
