What consent must cover
What lip blushing is and how it is done; that it is a tattoo and effectively permanent even as it fades; that colour and evenness cannot be guaranteed and a touch-up is needed; specific risks (infection, allergy/granuloma, cold-sore reactivation, migration, hyperpigmentation, asymmetry, dissatisfaction, difficulty of removal); aftercare obligations; alternatives (temporary makeup, filler, nothing); and total cost including the touch-up.
How to take it properly
Give the information in advance where possible, answer questions, and sign before anaesthetic is applied and with no time pressure. Have the client initial the key risk and permanence clauses, not just sign the last page. A cooling-off gap between consultation and procedure is good practice and legally required in some places.
Capacity and age
The client must be an adult (check ID against your local minimum, often 18, sometimes higher) and able to understand and retain the information. Never take consent from someone intoxicated or heavily pressured by a companion.
