The four things clients underestimate
Healing: it will look too dark, then 'gone', then patchy, for two-plus weeks. Two sessions: one appointment rarely gives an even result; the touch-up is included in the process, not optional. Colour: healed = pigment through their natural lip; deep or cool lips will not become bright pink. Maintenance: it fades over 1–3 years and needs a boost.
How to communicate it
Show healed photos of past clients with the same starting lips, not fresh photos or stock images. Give a printed healing-day-by-day sheet. Put the key limits in the consent form in plain language and have the client initial them. Repeat the headline points on the day.
Say no when needed
A client set on an outcome their lips cannot deliver is not a good booking. Declining politely, with an explanation, protects them from disappointment and you from a correction job and a bad review.
