About this project

Lip Blushing Decoded is an independent, ad-supported encyclopedia of lip blushing and the wider craft of permanent makeup. It gathers, in plain language, what is actually known and practised: where cosmetic tattooing came from, how lip tissue and implanted pigment behave, how colour is chosen and corrected, how the procedure is performed and healed, how it is kept safe, and how the training, certification and licensing around it work.

It is written for three readers at once — the artist in training who wants the reasoning behind each step, the working practitioner who wants a reference to check against, and the prospective client who wants to know what they are signing up for.
