The hand
All pungs consists of four pungs (or kongs) and a pair, with no chows. Pungs can be called from any player, so the hand can be built quickly.
Starting signals
Several pairs in the opening hand suggest all pungs. Honour pairs are especially valuable because honour pungs add extra score.
Combining
All pungs combines with honour pungs, half flush and, if concealed, valuable patterns such as four concealed pungs.
Risks
The hand often ends with a single or double pair wait, which may be slow. Exposing many pungs also tells opponents what you are doing.
