Pure one suit

Every tile comes from a single suit, with no honours. It is very valuable and often has complex waits that are hard to read — for both opponents and the player holding it.

Pure one suit (full flush) in characters.

Mixed one suit

Tiles from one suit plus honours. It is easier to complete and still valuable, especially combined with honour pungs.

Signals and defense

Players chasing flushes discard the other suits heavily. When you see someone throwing two suits, beware of feeding them the third late in the hand.

Practising waits

Flush hands produce many unusual waits. Practising them with tile-efficiency drills is a recognised way to improve.
