The hand
A non-dealer declares riichi with a closed hand of all simples and self-draws the winning tile. The hand includes one red five. It contains a concealed triplet of 4 dots, a sequence of 2-3-4 characters, a sequence of 5-6-7 bamboo, a sequence of 6-7-8 dots and a pair of 8 characters, and the wait was a closed (middle) wait.
Han
Riichi 1, menzen tsumo 1, tanyao 1, red five dora 1: four han. If the ura-dora had matched, the hand would have reached five han, a mangan.
Fu
Base 20; self-draw 2; concealed simple triplet 4; closed wait 2. Total 28, rounded up to 30 fu.
Points
Four han and 30 fu gives a base of 30 × 2^6 = 1,920 points. On a non-dealer self-draw, the dealer pays twice the base and each other non-dealer pays once, rounded up: 3,900 from the dealer and 2,000 from each of the others, for 7,900 in total. Most players simply read this from a printed table.
