Chess Decoded is the portfolio's first site and its testing ground. It covers the game in five strands — openings, tactics, positional play, endgames, and the schools of thought that shaped modern practice — each with its own section of the site and its own URL structure.
Beyond the reference material it carries interactive pieces: puzzles whose solutions you reveal when you are ready, and full games you can step through move by move on a replayable board. Both work without a client-side framework, so every board position is already in the page source.
It is written for the improving club player rather than the complete beginner or the titled professional — the level where knowing why a move works finally matters more than memorising that it does.
