US Constitution Decoded walks the document itself: each article, each clause, in order, with what it says and what it has been held to mean.
All twenty-seven amendments get the same treatment, with particular weight on the Bill of Rights and the Reconstruction amendments.
Because the text alone does not settle most questions, the site covers the landmark interpretive cases alongside the clauses they turn on, and is explicit where the law remains contested.
